Day 2

Today you will meet your Tour Director and the driver for a full day of exploring Cape Peninsula and Seal Island. You will drive to Signal Hill for a bird’s eye view of the Atlantic Seaboard. From here you will descend into Camps Bay alongside the Twelve Apostles Mountain Range before reaching the historic Hout Bay Harbour. From here you enjoy a guided hike to the old lighthouse at Cape Point which stands head and shoulders above everything else. You may be lucky enough to spot zebra, eland, baboons and ostriches, a few of the species in the protected reserve.  Return to the vehicles and drive to the harbour where you will take a boat to Seal island to watch these magnificent creatures in the water. Once back on shore you will drive back to Cape Town along the eastern side of the peninsula visiting the African Penguin colony at Boulders Beach for a close-up view of the Jackass penguin en route.

Day 3 – 7

Today you will start your community project work. Since projects are determined closer to your actual tour date, here is a glimpse at what a typical day might look like:

Experience the real, un-cut Cape Town as a responsible traveller and volunteer daily in the township communities surrounding the city.

Work with children or with elderly people. Choose to entertain kids in a hospital where they need it the most or you can assist them doing their homework. Or you can choose to work in a special needs care centre.

Choose a conservation project at one of the few nature reserves that are in and around Cape Town.

Day 8

Today after breakfast you will climb the iconic Table Top Mountain. Together with your guide, you embark on a spectacular guided walk to the summit. Here you will be rewarded with incomparable views of the Cape Peninsula and beyond. Once you have reached the top of Table Point, you can walk around the plateau admiring the views in all directions. You will descend from Table Mountain on the cable car to get an alternate view of the mountain and Cape Town.

Day 9

Today you will visit Robben Island where you will be shown around the prison by ex-inmates who are able to provide great insight into the day to day life of a Robben Island Prisoner. Having incarcerated Nelson Mandela for 19 of his 27 years in jail under apartheid, Robben Island has become a symbol of South Africa’s remarkable transformation.

In the afternoon you will be driven around the various townships in Cape Town to get an insight into the life of people here.

Overnight hotel Cape Town.
