Day 1
Upon arrival into Auckland, you will head to Northland from the airport. Arriving into Waipoua Forest for a twilight tour to learn about the Māori legend of Tāne Mahuta.
Day 2
This morning you will have the chance to carve your own Māori pendant from bone with a local artisan. Then we travel onwards to spend the afternoon at the Waitangi Treaty Grounds to learn about the making of the New Zealand nation.
Day 3
Spend the day travelling along the beautiful Northland coast. With stops at deserted beaches and temperate forests, you will start to see some of the different diverse landscapes that this country is famous for.
Day 4
Travel to Waitomo where you will take a boat tour through the spectacular glow-worm grotto. Then head onwards to a local Māori Marae, where you will be spending the night, to partake in cultural activities and arts, learn about their history, listen to their fascinating stories and eat an authentic hāngi dinner.
Day 5
Sadly, it is time to say goodbye to your new Māori family. Travel onward to Rotorua for a jam-packed day of activities. Visit the Agrodome and experience the thrilling Zorb.
Day 6
Today you will get to test your nerve and teamwork on the Original Canopy Tour. During your tour, you will also learn about the conservation efforts happening in the area to protect the native trees and wildlife. Then in the afternoon take time to relax in the naturally heated pools in the Polynesian Spa.
Day 7
This morning take a self -guided tour around the geothermal wonderland of Wai-O-Tapu. Then journey on to Taupō with a stop at the impressive Huka Falls, before enjoying your afternoon at the lakefront.
Day 8
An early start sees you on the journey down the North Island to Wellington. Upon arrival in Wellington, free time at leisure and overnight.
Day 9
This morning, you will take a guided tour of the Te Papa Museum to learn more about Māori heritage and see some of their interesting artefacts.
Afterwards, a private coach transfer will take the group to Wellington airport for a return flight back home.
