Explore Morocco’s colourful markets and renowned Medina before travelling to a Berber Village to spend some time volunteering at a community project and absorbing the traditions and warm hospitality of the local people. Continuing to Essaouira, spend time trekking along the beach and camping under the stars before having time in the coastal city with its tranquil squares, narrow lanes and whitewashed houses with their painted blue doors, which could be anywhere in the southern Mediterranean.

Day 1

Depart on an overnight flight to Marrakesh.

Day 2

On arrival in Marrakesh, you will be met by your Tour Director and transferred to your centrally located hotel.

Check-in to your hotel and freshen up and afterwards meet your guide for a tour of Marrakesh to discover the soul of city.

Head to the great square of Jemaa el Fna, one of the largest public spaces in the world, unique to Marrakesh. When night falls it transforms into a hive of activity. Henna-painters, performers and storytellers share the square with a street food bazaar, packed with stalls loaded with Moroccan delicacies. Enjoy famous Moroccan pastries with a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, and then finish your day with a cup of tea on one of the roof-top restaurants overlooking the square.

This evening you will join your guide for dinner at a local restaurant and a trip briefing.

Day 3

After breakfast you will meet your guide and driver and leave Marrakesh to head to the Atlas mountains and a Berber village.

You will spend the next two days here working on a community project, A group briefing will be held after lunch at the village gate, where you will stay, followed by orientation and discussion of the project ahead of you.

Day 4 – 5

Over the course of the next two days you’ll work alongside members of the community to complete a project. Each morning the project manager will conduct a group meeting to determine and divide up tasks for the day and in the evening you will have debrief on the days achievements. Before leaving the village we’ll celebrate the completion of the project.

Day 6

Farewell the friends you have made. You will hike from the village toward Imlil where you will visit the Berber village before driving to Sidi Kaouki, south of Essaouira. From here there will be a short hike along the beach to your overnight camp.

Day 7

Waking up to the sounds of the ocean you break camp and trek for about 4 hours following the Atlantic Coast to Sidi Mbark. Here you will have an optional camel ride along the beach before returning to our camp-site for the night under the stars.

Day 8

After breakfast this morning you will meet your vehicle and transfer to the coastal town of Essaouira. After check in at your hotel and lunch you will have free time in this coastal city.

The narrow streets of Essaouira are ideal for casual exploration. A walk through the town feels as though little has changed since the days of sea pirates. Sandstone walkways contrast with whitewashed houses, bright blue sky and the sand of the surrounding beaches and dunes. It is one of North Africa’s most attractive places, and you will soon find yourself slipping into the easy-going rhythm of this Moroccan town with a European seaside twist.

Day 9

After check out we will transfer to Marrakesh, arriving around noon. After check in we will join our guide for a walk through the Souks before some free time to for shopping before meeting in the evening for a final farewell dinner.

Day 10

It is time to say farewell. After breakfast we will be transferred to the airport for our flight back home.
