Day 1

Overnight flight to Beijing

Day 2

Arrive in Beijing.

On arrival you will be met by your Tour Director. Board your private coach and visit the International Studies University.  A nationwide renowned key school of higher education that endeavours to educate and train its students into internationally-minded professionals that are proficient in foreign affairs, economics, business and trade.

Later in the afternoon check into your hotel.

Day 3

After breakfast board your private coach and head to Beijing Innovation Centre (Lenovo). The Lenovo Beijing HQ tour will provide you with the rare opportunity to learn more about Lenovo’s latest innovations and the company’s Global Future Leaders Program, targeting graduates and early career professionals of diverse backgrounds.

Afterwards you will visit Weber Shandwick (a global PR). Weber Shandwick is one of the leading global public relations firms in the Chinese mainland with offices in Beijing, Shanghai Shenzhen, and Guangzhou. The company delivers innovative communication solutions across a diverse range of disciplines including mobile commerce, digital and social media engagement, consumer marketing, corporate reputation, healthcare, technology, public affairs, financial services, corporate social responsibility and crisis management.

In the afternoon you will visit the Austrade Office in Beijing.  Today you will learn about Australia’s largest trading partner, China. The entry into force of the China Australia Free Trade Agreement in December 2015 injected fresh impetus into an already strong trade and investment relationship, opening the door for Australian companies to penetrate more deeply into our largest export market.

Day 4

After an early breakfast you will visit the Great Wall of China (built mid-6th century). One of the greatest sights and the longest wall in the world. The students will be given an introduction to the Great Wall’s unique history, they will have free time to explore. Students will enjoy the walk on this incredible man-made structure and admire the views across countryside and into neighbouring countries.

Enjoy lunch in a local Chinese restaurant and return to Beijing for some leisure time before dinner at one of Beijing’s most well-known Peking Duck restaurants.

Day 5

After breakfast head for a guided tour of Beijing. You will visit Summer Palace and Forbidden City. The Forbidden City, also known as the Palace Museum, and Gu Gong in Chinese, lies at the city centre of Beijing, and once served as the imperial palace for 24 emperors during the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368 – 1911).

Afterwards visit Tiananmen Square, the largest city square in China and is one of the largest public squares in the world.  To the east stands the National Museum of China which houses an array of artefacts and cultural relics from China’s extensive history.

Later in the afternoon you will visit the Silk Market. The market is seven floors of shops where you can get some traditional Chinese crafts.

Day 6

This morning visit the Great Hall of the People. The Great Hall of the People is where the National People’s Congress is held, along with other administrative, social, and ceremonial events. Built in just 10 months and completed in September 1959, the Great Hall is a grand and modern structure with a flat green and yellow roof.

Afterwards you will visit one of Beijing’s traditional suburbs where local residents still live in traditional courtyard-styled housesdotted along old hutongs.  You will also enjoy a traditional lunch with local families.

After lunch head to Beijing Urban Planning Exhibition Hall and have the best introduction to the city’s past, present and future secrets. See the high scale model of how the city would look like in 2020. It includes 18 districts and shows the visitor the percentage of the so far accomplished project and other features.

Day 7

This morning enjoy some free time in Beijing.

Later in the afternoon board your coach for a transfer to the train station for your overnight train to Xi’an.

Day 8

On arrival meet your Tour Guide. Board your coach and enjoy a guided tour of Xi’an. You will visit the Ancient City Wall. This extremely well preserved city wall is a wonderful testimony to the engineering and construction skills of the ancient Chinese people. Walking or biking around the wall is awe inspiring with interesting and different views of the old and new parts of Xian.

Spend the afternoon viewing the enigmatic life-sized Terracotta Warriors. Within the museum area the warriors can be seen in three different ‘pits’, which are active archaeological digs. After this, visit the Xi’an Art Ceramics and Lacquer Exhibition Workshop to see smaller models of the warriors being made.

Day 9

This morning see the other highlight of Xi’an. The incredible Xi’an City Wall, which is the only complete city wall in China. Dating back to the Ming Dynasty in the 14th century, the Xian ancient city wall is one of the best preserved urban fortifications in China.

In the afternoon wander through the Muslim Quarter. The Muslim Quarter is the hub of Xian’s Islamic community and is home to many stalls selling a variety of snack foods and delicious oriental food.

Tonight students will enjoy a delicious buffet of traditional Shui Jiao dumplings and a performance of Tang Dynasty dancing in the evening. The Tang Dynasty dancing show is an exciting performance of this affluent society and keeps alive the splendidness of the city’s history.

Day 10

This morning you will visit the Yangling Mausoleum of Han Dynasty. Considered to be one of the most important discoveries of the last 25 years, the Yang Ling Mausoleum is the joint tomb of the Western Han Dynasty Emperor Jing Di and his Empress, Wang. It is the most intact royal mausoleum and the most important tangible document in the research of burial customs and civilization from this dynasty ever discovered.

In the afternoon board the fast train to Luoyang.

Day 11

In the morning you will take a part in a guided tour of Longmen Grottoes.

The Longmen Grottoes is one of China’s four famous ancient grottoes. The magnificence of the carvings in the Longmen Grottoes ranks first among China’s grottoes. The Longmen Caves are of great value to the history of world sculpture.

In the afternoon enjoy some free time exploring this ancient capital of China. Stroll through the old streets of Luoyang Ancient City to experience Luoyang’s long history of being capitals for 13 ancient Chinese dynasties and colourful culture.

Day 12

This morning after breakfast board your coach and drive about 50 km to the dream land for Kung Fu fans and Buddhist pilgrims – Shaolin Temple. Shaolin Temple, the birthplace of Zen Buddhism and the cradle of Kung Fu. You will visit the grandiose temples and halls, admire stone carving art, learn about Buddhism culture, observe the daily living and meditation of monks in the temple. See the famous Pagoda Forest, the existing largest pagoda forest in China.

Later in the day enjoy a magnificent Kung Fu Performance in the Shaolin Wushu Hall.

Day 13

After breakfast board your coach and transfer to the airport for your flight to Shanghai.

Arrive in Shanghai, once known as the ‘Paris of the East’, Shanghai is now one of Asia’s most influential cities. The city presents a blend of cultures, the modern and the traditional, along with the European and oriental. Today you will enjoy a guided tour of Shanghai which will include the peaceful Yu Garden and a quick visit to old town. Admire the magnificent colonial architecture with a stroll along the Bund, before visiting the Silk Factory. The Silk Factory is an educational journey through the production of silk, one of China’s most famous and luxurious materials. Learn about the use of silkworms and silk moths in its production; the manufacturing process; as well as silk’s journey along the Silk Road.

Day 14

This morning you will visit the Oriental Pearl TV Tower one of the tallest towers in the world. It’s the most renowned landmark of the city of Shanghai, the TV and Broadcasting tower is widely regarded as the symbol of modern Shanghai.

Afterwards you will visit Shanghai World Financial Centre known as a global magnet. It is a super tall skyscraper, symbol of commerce and culture that speaks to the city’s emergence as a global capital.

After lunch head to Shanghai Volkswagen Auto to see the cars produced by Volkswagen. You will visit the assembly workshop to see cars turned from the raw materials to completed article on the production line. You will also visit the Shanghai Auto Museum which displays up to 70 classic cars covering the history of the auto history.

Day 15

After breakfast your guide will take you on a walking tour around Wuzhen. Wuzhen is a historic scenic town, one of the six famous ancient water towns south of Yangtze River.

Tonight you will see an acrobatics show. Catch a performance by experienced acrobats who do breathtaking aerial tricks, balancing acts, juggling and more.
